Liz transformed our NYC co-op, last designed in the 80s, into an inviting, eclectic, warm, soothing space, creating our dream apartment. She had a unique and bold vision and worked tirelessly to present us exciting options for layout, cabinetry, lighting, furnishings, finishing pieces and art. She has relationships with many artisans who were able to custom make unique and gorgeous pieces for our home and then a wealth of interesting resources to find the just-right pieces, doing it all with a sensitivity to budget.
Liz included us in a creative conversation–always feeling out what resonated with our unique sensibility. She struck a delightful balance between guiding us and listening to us. Liz was a fierce advocate to ensure fine craftsmanship, and keep the project moving on a budget and on schedule. She is also just very lovely to work with–she is kind, hard-working, organized, a great communicator, deeply passionate and committed to realizing the space. We always felt that the project was as important to her as it was to us.
The result is that our apartment is more than we ever imagined–a space that uplifts, delights and nurtures us each time we walk through our door. We think of it as our happy place. We loved the process of working with Liz and are privileged to be enjoying her work each day. We can’t recommend her more highly.
The thought of remodeling and furnishing our new home was overwhelming until we met with Liz Zaret. Liz took our home from being a 1920's Spanish that had great bones but needed much updating, to a fabulous home that all who enter the front entry stop and say WOW! Liz worked tirelessly with our contractor from the early stages of tearing out walls, to remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as picking out paint colors, finishes, cabinetry, flooring, appliances, hardware and lighting. All the while, Liz kept us on track and under budget. We now have our beautiful home to enjoy filled with Liz's gorgeous custom sourced furniture, linens and window coverings. And best of all is Liz's fun, focused, professional attitude and work ethic.
What started out as my search for the perfect coffee table ended up with paint, wallpaper, and a master bedroom renovation currently in progress! Liz was collaborative, inventive, and brought incredibly tasteful and beautiful details to our home. She becomes an “expert partner” while finding the perfect items for your rooms, yet can incorporate what one is looking for and elevate it to the next level. Her little touches complete a look, and make you want to be home to enjoy her work. Liz lets her clients move at their own pace; I never felt pressured or rushed and really appreciated that. I look forward to continuing our partnership on many future projects.
I had A Little Sprucing assist me in making my home feel more put together and more like me and it worked! Liz asked me questions about what was important to me and what I wanted most to work on. I wanted cozy seating areas, and an updated feel without buying new furniture. She came back with pieces to add to what I already had and created a beautiful living room by rearranging my chairs and a small table into a new configuration. She added a sense of design to my coffee table with a few new items. Liz also brought over her amazing pillows and made my den look like an updated living space. I love working with her because she is a great listener and gave me exactly what I wanted, an updated look and a beautiful space to come home to.
I decided to update my house recently but definitely needed help in moving forward. Once I started with Liz I knew I had picked the right person. Liz is fabulous. She helped me change the whole vibe of my house by just replacing small styling pieces, pillows and various accessories. The entire feel of my house is now different without having changed one piece of furniture. She has a great eye and her taste and creativity are first rate. Additionally, Liz was totally responsive to what I wanted. I cannot say enough good things about her. Not only am I thrilled with the end result, I actually had great time throughout the entire process.
Liz is a design GODDESS. Not only does she have INCREDIBLE taste, she is so lovely and easy to work with. If you need a pillow, a vintage vessel, or a whole new kitchen Liz is the one to call! My home is so much prettier because of her!
I hired Liz to help me make some changes throughout my beach house. My home is a little bit of a tricky untraditional narrow space with four floors. I wanted it to feel lighter and brighter, feel more cohesive and fresh, but at the same time warm and cozy. We were able to stay on budget by keeping some of my bigger pieces like my couch and bed, but Liz added things like a cool leather chair, pillows, throws, styling pieces, two rugs and and some art for the walls, changing the whole feeling and color scheme. We picked paint for my entry, and stairwell to brighten things up, designed and had made a custom nightstand for my narrow space on the side of the bed that I just love, and custom black out drapes for my bedroom. We also changed lighting and made a design plan for my deck. Liz and I worked really well together, and she navigated around my busy work/travel schedule. I love the changes that were made and I’m thrilled with my space.
Liz is fantastic! This past year she decorated our Pied a Terre in New York seamlessly from Los Angeles! She was so easy to work with. She understood the feel we wanted and made our place more relaxing and beautiful than we ever anticipated it could be. In the midst of global supply chain problems she managed to get our apartment furnished with custom pieces faster than companies that were based in NY. She has terrific taste, a great eye and fabulous people skills that made the entire process so much fun. We couldn’t be happier, and can’t wait for our next project together!
I have been working with Liz for a few years. After we remodeled our home I had a vision and Liz help me create that. Her expertise in how to put things together really make a room look so comfortable and inviting. It was exactly what I was looking for. She is fair, honest and really works from her heart. If something doesn’t look right or needs a little something else she will let you know. She gave my house that relaxing beachy feel that I was looking for - Liz added speciality pieces like vintage pillows, a leather chair, and smaller styling pieces which made a big difference. She also helped me pick art and re-styled many spaces throughout my home. She can definitely bring to life your ideas as well.
Liz has been an incredible part of our home journey as we first put down roots in our Palisades LA home, and then moved to Greenwich CT last year. We credit her vision, incredible taste, keen attention to detail, worldly references and graceful guidance for helping us to make both our houses true family homes. We first started working with Liz on a casual "sprucing up" of our living room in the Palisades, which quickly evolved into a multi-room design. Every meeting, call, interaction with Liz was a true pleasure. She made us feel at ease and in good hands. She pushed us to take risks and get out of our comfort zone when we needed it, and we learned to trust her immensely. When we suddenly decided to move East, we immediately asked for her assistance and she graciously agreed. Not only was she able to assess what we needed for the move over photographs, but she miraculously had key pieces made in record time and arranged for them to be on our moving truck with us. This was a true blessing as we felt settled as soon as we arrived in our new home. She even helped us move in, and visited us once more in our Greenwich home to finalize some projects. Liz is a designer that we would trust with anything in our home from the biggest to smallest projects. We know she always has our best interests in mind, and will listen intently, and try her best to understand our desires to create something that is both beautiful and livable. We are so grateful to have her in our lives and hope we have her by our side for any future design projects!
We first hired Liz to spruce up our living room! Our family was growing and our space needed to accommodate more people in a comfortable way. She immediately came up with a solution to build a window seat/day bed that has quickly become our favorite nook in the house. Every aspect of the design was thoughtful…finishes that complimented our existing design, comfortable and durable fabrics, and vintage hardware. More recently, Liz has been helping us prepare for a remodel and addition. She has helped us create a mood and vision for the new spaces and we can’t wait to bring it all to life!
